Just Listen by Sarah Dessen
This was such a beautiful story. It deserves a decent review.
Which I will compose soon.
Hopefully.
(Let's keep our fingers crossed).
Read from March 17 - 19, 2014.

City of Ember
This movie was not what I expected. Actually, I had no idea what to expect, considering that I had no idea what it was all about before actually watching it.
But two minutes into the movie and I was intrigued. I absolutely loved the concept: a world where an event (I'm not really sure what it was, they weren't clear on it ... but I'm pretty it was the end of the world) that wiped out most of humankind led to a group of scientists (I think they were scientists, apparently, they were able to know the end was coming) designed a city underground ... and the people were supposed to get out after 200 years.
And the current residents were really interesting ... there's this day where you get your assignments, deciding your future from picking lots from a bag (if only it was this simple in real life, 'Oh my gosh! I'm a doctor!'). And also, they have no idea that there actually exists a world above. Weird. I mean, wasn't the reason why they were put there in the first place was to be the future of humankind. Wouldn't they have at least known of the history of mankind? I mean, if the scientists (or the Builders, whatever you call them) had the time to build an underground city and design everything in it, wouldn't they have at least had the time to equip the people with something to inform them of this? Although, now that I think about it, the people may have been aware that there was once such a world as above, in the scene where a girl draws a picture of something with blue skies. But I just really found it so weird that they had no idea that there was actually a way out. I think it was kind of pointless to just have the mayor know about the escape route back to the surface (then again, if people knew then they would have probably gone crazy from being underground and went up to the surface, oh I don't know, not 200 years later; but then, they would not have gone up even if they knew the way out, because the Builders could have just told them that if they went out too early, they would have died from whatever have caused the end of the world).
I have so many questions still, but I think they're just going to make me confused (as evidenced by the previous sentence) 'cause I'll end up answering that question and then having another question which I would answer and then come up with another question and so on and so forth. I'm getting a headache right now ... And I'm ranting.
Anyways, the movie was pretty cool, the idea was pretty original (I found out later that it was based on a book ... and I think that may be why it was original). Though the ending was kind of a bummer. I was 'What? That's it?'
But still, 4 of 5 stars.

100 Days Wtih Mr Arrogant / Naesarang Ssagaji (2004)
This movie was cute, but it lacked depth ... I felt like there could have been something more that happened between the two main characters.
The ending was kind of weird too, though I suppose it was supposed to be sweet. Plus, what was up with the reaction of the girl in the end (or to be more exact, the lack of it.)
I'd rate it at 2 of 5 stars.

The First Time 2012
I unexpectedly enjoyed the movie. I really love the characters and their quirkiness and their awkwardness ... though it seemed to lack something, I can' put my finger on it but there's something. Or maybe not the lack of something but too much of it? The story was kind of fast (like it just spanned for just 2 or 3 days).
Will post more of the review soon.
